Who We Are
Cornerstone Day Nursery & Pre-school, Trewsbury Road Branch (T/A Cornerstone Group of Nurseries Limited) first opened its doors in January 2009. Our first nursery was opened in Sydenham in February 2002.
We provide full day care for five months to five-year-old babies and children. It is spacious, comfortable, bright and welcoming, situated away from noise and traffic.
Our Nursery reflects a calm, friendly and home-like atmosphere which cultivates a sense of security in children and helps transition between the home and school.
We are registered with Ofsted and conform to the Children’s acts 1989 and 2004.
At Cornerstone, we aim at providing every opportunity for your child to grow/develop in a secure, friendly, caring and stimulating environment. As a team, we are committed to getting the best out of the children in our care by responding to their individual needs, building their self-esteem and their confidence to try, and employing them in interesting and challenging activities.
We encourage the children to take on responsibility and make their own choices through constant interaction with the staff.
Our groups are small in order to encourage the children to display creative ability, language skills, imaginative thinking and play as well as being made aware of social skills like courtesy, thoughtfulness and caring for others.
Children’s safety and security are given the very highest of priorities at Cornerstone Day Nursery & Pre-school. Our nursery gate and classrooms are covered by CCTV and the main nursery door has a labelled doorbell which is monitored by staff and we ask you to work in partnership with us to keep your children safe by ensuring you do not let people, not known to you, into the nursery, and by ensuring doors are closed securely behind you as you enter and leave rooms and the main building.
Only people named on your child’s information form will be allowed to collect your child from the nursery.
